🌺 The Grannies Joint Way

Every workshop, whether for a baby or an elder, carries the same heartbeat:
to teach care as something that grows alongside us.
When a caregiver learns to detangle a child’s curls without pain,
when a teen learns to love their natural texture,
when an elder feels restored through a gentle touch —
those are the moments we live for.
Because every stage of life deserves care that listens.
At Grannies Joint, every workshop is built around real life. We bring care where it’s needed most — in homes, community spaces, and safe environments chosen with purpose.
✨ Workshop Locations

Our sessions can be held:
- At the client’s home — in a comfortable, familiar space
- At a business or organization’s location — like a salon, center, or care home
- At a Grannies Joint–chosen space — when we host community events or outreach programs
When it’s our event, we cover the time and coordination so participants can focus on learning and feeling supported — not logistics.
Before each workshop, we hold a pre-session video call to discuss what’s needed: lighting, seating, comfort items, privacy setup, and accessibility. We look together at the space — whether a living room, a break area, or a care room — to ensure safety and emotional comfort for everyone involved.
When we arrive, we bring a selection of sensory and care tools, and the participant (or family) chooses what feels most comforting. If comfort takes a few sessions to build, that’s perfectly fine — healing takes the time it needs.
💜 Community & Team Wellness Programs

We partner with organizations that care for people at their most vulnerable and those training to support them.
Our partnerships include:
- Veterans’ Homes
- Nursing Homes
- Senior Centers
- Domestic Violence Shelters
- Foster-Care Placement Agencies
- Community Outreach & Violence Prevention Programs
These workshops go beyond grooming — they teach empathy, communication, and respect at every level.
🌱 Team Dignity-Based Training

Each organization we work with receives tailored Dignity-Based Training, which can count toward state certification or internal training hours.
Our workshops teach:
- How to enter a person’s home or care space respectfully
- How to observe body language and sensory cues before engaging
- How to ask for consent to touch or assist in a way that feels natural and safe
- How to use icebreakers to build trust and comfort
- How to communicate with people who may not understand words clearly but always understand tone and intention
🌿 Our 7-Point Discipline

Every training we give — no matter the setting — is built on a 7-Point Discipline that defines how we work, speak, and care.
While the seven points adjust to fit the audience (elders, youth, parents, trauma survivors, caregivers, or professionals), the foundation never changes:
💜 Respect. Safety. Dignity. Sensitivity. Patience. Understanding. Empowerment.
Before a participant joins any Grannies Joint workshop, they’ll receive a clear overview of what the class covers, how it’s structured, and how it’s designed to help. No surprises — just support.
Each 7-point framework ensures that every instructor, partner, and student reflects the values of gentle care for every kind of hair — and every kind of human.
🧡 From My Hands to Yours

Grannies Joint wasn’t built overnight.
It was built by hand — slowly, sometimes painfully, but always with purpose.
Piece by piece, I’ve lifted it with my own back, my own hands, and the belief that true care doesn’t just change how people look — it changes how they feel seen.
There have been hard lessons and harder days, but every challenge has shaped this mission. Every client, every team member, every elder or child who’s trusted me has become part of the foundation.
This isn’t just business.
It’s a legacy — a promise that when someone welcomes Grannies Joint into their space, they’ll find care that listens, respects, and restores.
Gentle care for every kind of hair. Every age. Every space. Every story.
